Cabins on Uros Island

The Uros Islands refer to a group of floating islets located in Lake Titicaca. The islets are made of totora reeds which grow in the lake, and last about 30 years with constant reinforcing of the top structure with new reeds. The Uros people originally fashioned the islets to escape the Incas who had taken over the mainland.
