Iceberg is a huge part of ice from freshwater that has broken off from a snow shaped glacier or ice shelf and is floating in open water. It may afterwards turn into frozen into pack ice. Alternatively, it may come to rest on the oceanic in shallower water, causing ice clean or becoming an ice island.
