She found fame as a Real Housewife, known for her shopping and expensive taste.

But when you’re family is declared bankrupt it’s time to get back to work.

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice has just completed a commercial for a chain of local tanning salons called Sizzle Tans.

She tweeted: ’I shot a commercial for Sizzle Tans in New Jersey! Love Love Love them and can’t wait for you all to see it!!’

The extra money from the advert couldn’t have come at a better time.

The 38-year-old and husband Joe’s possessions will be auctioned on August 22 at their New Jersey mansion.

Last October the couple were forced to declare bankruptcy and according to court documents, their total debts are estimated at $8.7 million, while their assets were estimated at $2.2 million.

Hopefully for Teresa, being the face and body of Sizzle Tans will help the family out of their financial hole.

’She’s the face of our company. We’re running that commercial on 10 networks,’ Sizzle Tans owner Rob Hornung told People magazine.

Hornung also said the company plans to use her tanned image on billboards for the company throughout New Jersey. ’She did a really good job shooting the commercial,’ he said.

In the commercial Giudice is seen posing at a Sizzle Tans salon wearing a variety of brightly-coloured skimpy bikinis to reveal lots of her own highly-tanned skin, and praising the company’s product.

There is also speculation that Giudice may appear on the new season of Dancing With The Stars. When asked to confirm the rumour on her Twitter page earlier today, Giudice replied: ’I can’t comment on it anymore but I will be on [the morning talk show] "The View" on Monday on ABC... ;)’

The Italian-American mother of four is also currently promoting her New York Times best selling cookbook Skinny Italian, with book tours in New Jersey.
