Jennifer Aniston is understood to have closed the deal on a luxury New York penthouse under her dog’s name.

The former Friends star, 42, inked to a deal to purchase three separate units in a building in Manhattan’s trendy West Village neighbourhood last month.

Now it has emerged that they were bought using the name of her beloved corgi-terrier, Norman.

Property records reveal the apartments, for which she paid $4.95 million USD, were bought by Norman’s Nest Trust.

Aniston’s business manager, Bruce Lagnese, is also a signatory on the mortgage documents.

The penthouse previously belonged to celebrity hairdresser, Sally Hershberger.

The 1200 sq ft unit is on the 18th floor of the building and boasts views of the Empire State Building.

It also has a 800 sq ft terrace which overlooks New York Harbor, but has just one bedroom and one bathroom.

Karen Heyman, of realtors Sotheby’s, who handled the sale, made no comment last night.

As well as the penthouse, she snapped up two other small units in the building.

It is thought she will combine all three units to make one sprawling duplex apartment.

A representative for Aniston was unavailable for comment.

Aniston recently put her sprawling Beverly Hills property on the market for $42 million in February.

She spent more than two years renovating that 9,000 square foot property after purchasing it in 2006 for $13.5 million.

She decided to sell the property after deciding it was ’too much’ for her.

In the past, Jennifer has made it no secret that she was looking to return to New York.

Appearing on Good Morning America in February, she told anchorman Robin Roberts that she was in the market for a Manhattan home.

’I’ve been looking and looking and looking,’ she said.

’I grew up here. I miss it. There is nothing like being in the city that is just the city of Everyman. It’s all walks of life. I love that.’
