Nancy Dell'Olio enviable bikini body in Sardinia

Five months after announcing she was in a relationship with theatre director Sir Trevor Nunn, Nancy Dell’Olio finds herself topping up her suntan alone.


She is taking a solo break in Sardinia amid speculation among friends that the romance has fizzled out.



The Italian-American lawyer, who turns 50 this month, cut a slightly forlorn figure as she took a break in Sardinia.

Miss Dell’Olio showed off a figure that women half her age would envy in a light blue bikini, but looked far from happy.



The couple have not been seen together for some weeks and friends have claimed that she fled to the Costa Smeralda to work out how to proceed.



Miss Dell’Olio did not spend all her time alone and made sure she had some fun with old friend , David Dein, the former vice-chairman of the Football Association, and his family.

She spent time on his yacht and looked to have put her troubles to the back of her mind as she frolicked on its on-board waterslide.



Miss Dell’Olio is having a party for 150 people in Puglia, southern Italy, where she grew up and where her parents still live, for her “milestone” birthday.



But it is thought Sir Trevor, 71, will not be able to attend as his new production of The Tempest opens in London at around the same time.



The couple surprised friend when they got together in because they are such opposites.

Miss Dell’Olio, who was previously in a long term relationship with Sven Goran Eriksson, is famed for her love of glamour and parties.



She revealed the pair met at exclusive London restaurant The Ivy in March.



She said of their fledgling love affair: ‘I love men who are passionate. I love powerful figures. I was always in love with my tutors at university. I was in search of a father figure.’



‘I’m happy to explore it. If you ask me if I’m enjoying it, the answer is yes. I was totally surprised by it. But he was in my mind, I was in his.'
