Miss Ecclestone was pictured over the holiday weekend with her make-up artist Gary Cockerill, who is best known as the man behind Katie Price's over-the-top style, and his partner Phil Turner.

Wearing a skimpy leopard-print bikini and cowboy hat, the heiress splashed around in the surf with her friends at the shoreline.

After a costume change into a coral-coloured bikini under a white vest, Tamara tried her hand at surfing.

California Girl! The heiress says the LA lifestyle is so much better than London, and she'd love to spend six months of the year in the US

The brunette was spotted perfecting her paddling and jump-up on the sand with a professional instructor before walking her board to the water.

California life certainly seems to suit her, and Tamara has revealed that she would love to move here and has even started house-hunting.

'I would love to come over here and spend three or six months of the year here, I would love that, like when it’s raining in London,' she says. 'It’s such nice weather, I love it. It makes such a difference.'

'It’s so nice to drive around with the roof down when the sun is out,' Tamara adds. 'It’s completely different to living in London, I’m just soaking it all up.

'I feel like LA is kind of a world of its own, really weird, like this wonderful bubble. I feel like what’s nice about LA is a lot of people come here with a dream, I don’t know, for me it’s a really inspirational place, a sunny, inspirational place.'

Miss Ecclestone's three-part reality show Tamara's World will air in October, and she has been holding meetings with American TV executives while in the States.

Beachside living? Tamara has said she is house-hunting in Beverly Hills, but could be more suited to the Malibu coastal lifestyle

'It would be so nice to come back more often,' she says. 'Depending on how everything goes with doing the show out here it might be a necessity.'

'I want to build a brand and I want to think I’ve inherited my dad’s business mind.

'I really want to do it on my own but it’s nice to know he supports me at the same time. He thinks it’s an amazing idea, he’s really proud of me.'

She says that Tamara's World will be a no holds barred look inside her lifestyle, warts and all.

Taking on the waves! Tamara says she feels inspired by the people in LA chasing their dreams

Tamara says: 'There’s obviously the glamour of lifestyle and Formula One and going to events with my family and stuff like that, but the other side of me is that I’m a real homebody.

'I love doing anything at home and hanging out with my dogs and just doing really simple things.

'I haven’t said to the cameras "stop rolling" when there’s been an argument or an incident, like so there’ll be drama and there’ll be tears there’ll be tantrums, I’m a girl and girls will definitely relate to me, there are good days and bad days.'
