The albatross is a big graceful bird noted for their long distance flights. The wandering albatross can fly as much as 560 miles per day at air speeds of 50 miles per hour, covering anywhere from 1,800 miles to a distance of 9300 miles in a single foraging flight. Young adult albatrosses spend several years at sea before returning to land to breed at about 7 years of age.
