During their stay in Barbados, footballer Andy Carroll and his girlfriend Stacey Miller have found themselves overshadowed by paparazzi magnets Wayne and Coleen Rooney.

But the new footballing couple gave photographers plenty to capture after they put on a show of togetherness in Barbados yesterday.

The Liverpool striker, 22, and his blonde girlfriend, 23, put on a tactile display of affection as they frolicked on a pontoon at the Sandy Lane Hotel.

In contrast to Coleen’s mahogany glow, fresh-faced Miller showed she isn’t a typical WAG as she sported a faint tan.

After spending the past few days on the beach loungers or in the hotel bar, the pair decided to take the action into the sea.

Caroll and Miller have been dating since the end of last year and are living together in Cheshire.

He was still playing for Newcastle when the couple met before he signed for Liverpool in a record £35million deal on deadline day in January - the highest ever amount for a British football player.

And despite his team rivalry with Manchester United, Carroll has been hanging out with Wayne during his vacation.

Unsurprisingly, the two men have been bonding over a beer in the hotel bar - with Wayne posting photos of them on his Twitter page.

Wayne and Coleen have a £5m holiday home on the island and are regulars at the lush Sandy Lane Hotel popular with multi-millionaire stars. Simon Cowell holidays at the resort each year.

Getting serious, Miller is now living with Carroll in Cheshire after they started dating late last year

Carroll has been a regular in the tabloids over the past few years for his love life and drinking.

A month before his England debut last November, he pleaded guilty to a common assault charge after a glass struck a man above his right eye during a fight over a spilt drink in a Newcastle nightclub.

Carroll had apparently drunk nine pints that night and was fined £1,000 by the court for the incident.

In March last year, he got into an incident while in training with Newcastle United teammate Steven Taylor over an ex-girlfriend.

Defender Taylor was left with an alleged broken jaw but no charges were filed.
