Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul Sealed with a kiss in an old American Idol
The music mogul, 51, wrapped his hands around Paula’s waist and pulled in her into to his lap during a break from recording auditions in Miami.
At one point he pushed his face into her neck, in front of the studio audience, drawing a look of shock from the 48-year-old former singer.

However she soon looked comfortable in Cowell’s arms as they rested against the desk used by the judging panel which this year includes L.A Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.
Abdul, wearing a ruffled mini dress in turquoise and white, with silver heels, and Cowell have a close working relationship.

During the course of their friendship and television appearances, they have lampooned rumours that they are dating.
One skit saw the duo having a romantic meal together, and sharing a lingering kiss.
Of course, Simon Cowell is currently engaged to fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy who may be a little peeved at these new pictures.

However, Cowell has remained good friends with a few of his ex girlfriends including Jackie St.Clair.
In January Mezhgan calmly stood by as her fiance embraced Jackie outside Cipriani’s restaurant in London.
Obviously used to her fiancé’s lifestyle, she didn’t appear too concerned as she watched the clinch between the two.

In fact, Jackie even joined Cowell and Mezhgan on holiday in the Caribbean, along with another of Cowell’s ex-girlfriends Sinitta, in December 2010.
Meanwhile just this week Paula showed her solidarity for Cheryl Cole by posting messages on Facebook and Twitter.
Miss Abdul uploaded a picture of herself with a bunch of flowers that Cheryl, 27, sent her on Friday before the New Jersey auditions for the show.
They were the first auditions where Nicole Scherzinger was acting as Cheryl’s replacement.
On her Facebook page Paula wrote to Cheryl: ’I LOVVVVVVVVE MY FLOWERS!’

With the picture of herself clutching the beautiful pink and yellow bouquet she tweeted and posted to Facebook: ’Here’s another picture of me in the pink dress at last week’s The X Factor (USA) auditions in NJ. I’m holding the flowers beautiful flowers Cheryl Cole gave me. Cheryl’s a class act! :))’
Cheryl also reportedly sent flowers to her replacement Nicole Scherzinger and a fruit basket to LA Reid, showing her support for the judges in spite of the scandal surrounding her departure from the show.
After Cheryl was booted off the show, and rumours swirled of a rift between her and the other judges, Paula took to her Twitter to clear the air.
